Team Belmark!
Belmark Land & Homes mission is Building Friendships for Life our charity mission is To give back to the community our friends and customers call home. Not only do we take pride in sharing our enthusiasm to build a quality home we love to have fun as a company. Our staff of loyal employees makes up a wonderful place to work. Our President, Aaron Metcalf, values his team and believes it's important to spend time together by planning several team events throughout each year. Summer 2009 'Lake 22' A warm summer afternoon on a leisure hike is what we thought the day would be but it turned into an afternoon of laughter and sweat! We challenged one another to move through the trails quickly. If you have never been to Lake 22 you will want to grab a good pair of comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers and make the drive to Lake 22. Be sure to pack a light lunch and be ready to enjoy about a 4 hour day. The views from the trailhead all the way to the summit are amazing. When we all made it to the hidden lake we enjoyed time to relax, visit and have a light lunch. Team leader Aaron reminded us that we were doing a great job and he couldn't be more proud of the team we have. After a nice pep talk we finished our hike back to the trailhead...another great team day for everyone at Belmark Homes. Winter 2009 'Bowling Bash' 2009 coming to and end so what a better treat than to spend the night with co-workers and spouses for some well deserved fun! And Bowling? Thats right, we went bowling. You don't have to be overly skilled but if you are then great! Keep in mind we didn't just bowl traditional games, we did contests and it turns out we are all quite competitive. Hours of laughter and 'ne-ner ne-ner' talk was enjoyed by all. Pizza at the end with some fun door prizes made the night worth the experience. So remember 'bowling' is actually really fun with the right group! Thanks again to Arlington's own Rocket Alley for a great time. If you are looking for a fun family or group activity stop by Rocket Alley in down town Arlington...
Summer 2010 'Rope Challenge' Somewhat reluctantly, Team Belmark didn't know how to prepare for the office announcement "We are doing an office event and it will be awesome!!! And don’t be afraid." If you are afraid of heights then this adventure would be a test to your nerves. Team Belmark arrived bright and early at Eagle Rock Challenge Course, ran by the Mt. Vernon Parks Department. The day was memorable. We were challenged by amazing heights while being harnessed with ropes. Climbing obstacles and tight rope walks were attempted by everyone. The staff at Eagle Rock was 100% inspirational and their cheerleading style abilities were amazing! Thanks again, Kyle, Jackie, Michele and Kendra! We are sure that is why Belmark's President Aaron chose this event. Aaron is a cheerleader at heart! We will all remember this day forever!
