Our Community Involvement
Christmas House is a non-profit organization that opens a store for low-income families to visit, and get Holiday gifts for their children. All of the gifts available at the store are either donated, or purchased with donated funds. Belmark Homes’ entire staff volunteered for the first time in December of 2007, and everyone really enjoyed it. This will be an organization that we will want to support for many years to come.
Belmark Homes has now helped renovate two local Marysville parks. The first project was Jennings Park where Belmark employees took two days to build pergolas that we had donated. We also did clean up, and landscaped the entrance to the park. The second project was Parkside Way Park where Belmark poured a concrete walkway, installed a drain system, and freshened up the landscaping with new bark and flowers.
This is another organization that is new to Belmark. We really wanted to get our staff involved, so we went on the website below, and reviewed the shelter’s wish list of items that were in high demand. Once we knew what items the shelter needed, we went to Wal-Mart and purchased gift cards for each of our employees, and gave them a shopping list of items. It was a really fun way to get everyone involved, and make him or her feel like they are making a difference. In addition, we made a cash donation, and purchased gift cards for the shelter to pass out.
This organization is close to our hearts here at Belmark. This program is set up through Seattle Children’s Hospital, and provides comfort, support, and hope to families with critically ill infants in the IICU by offering care packages with a variety of necessities to families in this situation. One of our own employees recommended this organization for a monetary donation, knowing first hand how much this program helps and comforts families in a time of need. She and her family were one of the first to receive one of these care packages in 2005.
In 2005, while the Imagine Children’s Museum was under construction, Belmark Homes was asked to build the lighthouse structure that, to this day, is located on the top of the museum. In addition, we have made cash donations to the museum over the years, and over the last few years, our employees have volunteered at their annual “North Pole Party” event.
Over the years, we have made monetary donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County. We have shown our support in many different ways, from sponsoring tables at their annual auction, to donating for the “Send a Kid to Camp” program.
Since 1996 Belmark Homes has been a member of The Chairs Round Table. The donations from this sponsorship are used towards the YMCA’s “Invest in Youth” program. |
